Australia Networkhas produced an IELTS exam TV series!
Each episode is about 10 minutes long and focuses on various parts of the test, as well as grammar and vocabulary. I've used some of these programs with my IELTS class because I think they're so good! For Writing take a look at Series 1 and 2.
IELTS Writing
In the IELTS exam the writing test is 60 minutes long with 2 tasks.
In Task 1 you need to write 150 words. As this section is shorter and represents about 40% of your overall score it is recommended that you spend about 20 minutes.
In Task 2 you need to write an essay of 250 words. This task represents approximately 60% of your overall result and therefore you should probably spend about 40 minutes.
You can make notes on the question paper but your answer must be written on the answer sheet.
For specific information regarding the Academic and General versions of the exam check out the Academic Task 1, Academic Task 2, General Task 1 and General Task 2 pages.
