How to understand and answer the essay question in the IELTS exam
In Task 2 you are expected to write an essay of at least 250 words in approximately 40 minutes.
The variety of topics are endless but the ‘type’ of questions that are asked are fairly similar. It usually consists of a statement (written from one point of view) and asks you to discuss it and state your opinion.
It is easy to lose marks in the IELTS exam by not answering the question appropriately. What do I mean by this?
· Writing about the wrong topic
· Not answering all parts of the question
· Not writing a balanced answer
· Not writing enough words (or writing too many)
