The best way to feel more confident about this part of the test is to practice practice practice. You should practice making notes for 1 minute as well as speaking for 2 minutes. You should record yourself using a cassette or mp3 player. You can then listen to yourself and identify what you are doing well and what you need to improve.

IELTS Exam Speaking Part 2 - the 2 minute topic

This section lasts for approximately 3-4 minutes.

In this part of the speaking test the examiner will hand you a card with a topic. You have 1 minute to prepare your ideas (and you can write notes) and then you must speak for 2 minutes about this topic. The examiner will stop you after 2 minutes and ask you 1 or 2 related questions.
